Enjoy exploring the fundamentals of painting with acrylic and the exciting processes of application methods that are unique to this medium. This class is for beginner to intermediate level painters or hobbyists who are interested in improving skills while learning about various utensils, painting surfaces, and techniques. Supplies will include gesso, gloss and matte mediums, acrylic paint sets, and nylon brushes. A detailed list of supplies will be reviewed during the first class.

Explore different drawing techniques through observation and practice. We will share experiences and mthods on how to develop and refine our drawing skills.
Materials to bring to 1st Class: 18x24 drawing pad, kneaded erasers, masking tape, pencils (HB, 2B, 4B, 6B, 2H, 3H, 4H), charcoal.

Learn to make frosting and decorate your own cakes. Tips and tricks of the trade. Piping figures, nail roses, simple designs,. Supply list given first class. Come have fun.

A four week class on the basics of rolled fondant, tiered cakes, and royal icing. Bring a crumb coated cake, rolled fondant, cornstarch, a rolling pin, and a sharp knife or pizza cutter to the first class.

2/1 Wednesday

Have the garden of your dreams! You will be guided through the technical and aesthetic processes of site analysis, soil preparation and plant selection. You will learn the answers to many general gardening questions. Bring digital photos and measurements of garden problem area to produce a simple design plan.

Learn to sew while making fun projects. Students will learn how to operate a sewing machine and the basics of sewing, such as how to read, cut and sew simple patterns and projects. The instructor will contact students prior to the first class with a list of required materials.

2/2 Thursday

An introduction to making jewelry, including materials, tools, techniques and tips. Learn to create bracelets and necklaces, including multi-strand techniques and how to make wire loops for earrings. Supplies will be available for the first class, but if you have them bring beading wire, crimp tubes, crimping pliers, cutters, beads of your choice, and clasps. Tools will be available for all classes use. Supply list will be provided on the first night. Magnification and extra lighting are optional.

3/15 Thursday

Senior High - Room 160

Learn odd-count tubular peyote, spiral, even-count flat peyote, herringbone and right-angle weave stitches. You will make a bracelet in each stitch. Bring two or three colors of 11/0 seed beads and a base color of 8/0 beads, beading thread or 6 lb. fireline, beading needles (size 11), scissors, magnification and light (optional) to the first class. Supply lists will be provided for the rest of the classes.

Demonstrations in hand-building techniques, wheel throwing, decorating, glazing. Beginners to more experienced. Self-expression, creativity. Individual skills, needs met.
Materials Fee: $35 the first night. Class size limited.

Senior High - Room 125

Learn woodcarving! Course teaches: marking, detailing, wood/tool selection, and different types of carving: releif, in the round, discuss wood burning. Learn the basics.
Material fee: 1st night $5.00. You must bring your own knife and carving glove.
