Here' a chance to learn about the DNA used in criminal and paternal investigations because of its exceptional power of identity discrimination. Following an introduction to DNA's structure, variability and profiling, based on FBI standards, the presentation will conclude with with an example demonstrating the basic methodology underlying the probability that a sample of crime scene DNA evidence, which was tested and found to possess a profile indistinguishable from that of a suspect's DNA profile, could belong to a person other than the suspect.
